My son Michael was born extremely premature, at 24 weeks gestation. So we knew from the beginning that he was going to face challenges developing his gross and fine motor skills, as well as speech. In addition, his hospitalization resulted in some significant sensory issues that made feeding difficult.
Then we came to Ahead Start for help in coordinating our BabyNet therapies.
Through the care we've gotten, Michael has improved in every development area. In most areas, he is even demonstrating age-appropriate skills.

We were concerned about Jackson's speech. Even by 18 months old, he was saying only five words consistently.
Our pediatrician referred us to BabyNet to have him evaluated, and after some significant research, we chose Ahead Start.
Faith, our Early Interventionist, has been a huge asset to us. She has helped us through our frustrations and celebrated with us on Jackson's achievements. The best moment for us was when Jackson said, "Mommy a ball" at two years old. Faith was there to hug us as we cried, because we were so happy.

My son Zack had some developmental delays that started around 9 months old. Gross motor skills, fine motor skills, and even some sensory issues.
