Once your child's individualized Family Service Plan is created or developmental needs are identified, training will begin in order to support your family's goals.
During training sessions, you will work with your child using toys and activities and / or developmental exercises (fun crafts and activities) to address your child's needs. Ahead Start provides training in the home or a childcare center.

Your Early Interventionist will assist your family by accessing appropriate resources in the community. Resources may include: speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, Medicaid, or Family Connections. Family Connections is a non-profit organization committed to improving the development of young children by educating and supporting the adults in their lives.

Monthly playgroups are fun for the whole family. meet other families receiving early intervention services from Ahead Start. These groups are great opportunities for your child to socialize with peers and connect with others.

Your child's initial curriculum based assessment will be updated every 6 months by your Early Interventionist. This will allow the Ahead Start team to track your child's progress and assist with program planning |

Ahead Start has a Certified Infant / Child Massage Instructor. Instruction is free and can be offered one-on-one in your home or in a group setting.
Massage has many benefits including increasing body awareness and strengthening muscle tone. |

If deemed appropriate, your Early Interventionist will help with locating the best preschool program for your child.
Your Early interventionist will make referrals, schedule and attend conferences and may participate in your child's Individualized Educational Plan. |
